When we booked last time, we booked with Peter, does Peter still deliver workshops for Medieval Days?
After several successful years running and delivering the Medieval Days workshops Peter has now retired and in July 2020 handed over to us at ReachOut Arts to continue the wonderful work that he has achieved with hundreds of schools and students over the years.
We are absolutely delighted to have picked up the baton from Peter. Both Gem & Saskia, as company directors have a strong passion for history and much experience in delivering workshops to children and adults alike. We are proud to be supported by a strong team of workshop practitioners ready to offer your school a wonderful 'time machine' experience.

Are you approved by any organisations?
We are members of the Independent Theatre Council. We are also approved by the council for learning outside the classroom. We hold the quality badge meaning that you can rest assured that our workshops will meet your requirements in regards to learning and safety.
We are also proud associate members of the Anti Bullying Alliance.
What are your fees?
Our workshop prices begin at a basic rate of £325 for a half day for example - 9:30am-12:30pm and a basic rate of £530 for a full day for example - 9:30am-3pm with lunch break. These prices include travel within 25 miles of WV16 4SS. If your setting is outside of this radius, a travel expenses fee and if necessary accommodation cost for our team would be added subject to where you are. The final fee will be dependent on the zone in which you sit on our UK map. Upon receipt of your enquiry we will check our availability against your chosen dates and provide you with a final quote to suit your needs.
If you are more local we may also offer shorter assembly based sessions - please enquire for the cost on these.
What does the fee include?
Your quote price will include
-
1 or 2 practitioners (depending on student numbers) fully trained, insured and hold an enhanced DBS on the update service.
-
Our day can work around you, we can start with a full group explainer assembly type session and then move into providing as many workshop sessions as we can fit into your day based on your timings, this could be several 30 minute sessions or one or two longer sessions. We can ensure we cover certain elements of the history to match your lessons or we can provide a general round up of the era. Our team can discuss this with you in advance to make sure we are covering your needs.
-
Every student participating in the session will have the chance to make and take home their own coin from the time period.
-
Students will also get to handle and try on many artefacts and participate in activities such as quill writing, brass rubbing, wool spinning.
-
Prizes - if you are happy for us to, we may add an element of competition into the workshops and will provide prizes for this.
-
We have many add on elements too that you may choose to book on top of our basic package such as a Medieval dance lessons, Roman mosaic making and more.
-
If you would also like a certificate of participation for your students 'Roman for the day' etc we can also provide these.
How far do you travel?
We have team members that are available to travel UK wide, we are based in the West Midlands/Shropshire. However, we would be more than happy to visit you if you are a bit further a field. The cost of travel and in some circumstances when accommodation would be needed prior to your workshop would be incorporated into your quote for a workshop.
What do we need to provide as a school?
Prior to the workshop, we will send out a contract of services to be signed, your date will be confirmed upon receipt of a small deposit. We will then send out an invoice for the remainder which will be due on workshop deliver day via Bacs transfer.
On the day we will need a large space with tables (usually around 5-6 tables for the artefacts alone plus additional tables for activity stations)
We will also need access to a plug socket in order to play atmospheric background music. The bigger the space we can work in the better.
Although our team are fully trained educators with safeguarding training, we would require a member of your school staff to stay with the group at all times.
It all sounds exciting, how do I book?
You can make your initial enquiry using our contact page form. Alternatively, drop an email to history@reachoutarts.co.uk with your preferred era, 2 possible date options, the age group of your students and approx number of participants as well as your location.
Once we have this information we can get the ball rolling.
We look forward to taking your students back in time,
From all at 'Medieval Days'
